I am a cabinet supplier in Australia.

As part of an academic project, I am trying to trace the history of the use of a standard equipment racking. (sorry, not the radio equipment itself, just the cases and racks they went in :-)
But the following are un answered in terms of the early radio users.....
i.e.
Who first put radio equipment into a rack mounted cabinet form ?
How were the front panel size and mounting dimensions agreed ?
What brought about a need for standardization (WW2 ?)
and the big one....did the current day 19" racking standard evolve from early radio users ?

If you have any leads, links or info on this I would be very greateful.

Many thanks

It is in great shape, and was well cared for. Crystals
all appear to be good. It has the calibration book and
