Held on May 1 and 2 at the Camp San Luis Obispo NCO Club.
The
tenth annual meeting of the Military Radio Collectors Group (MRCG) will be held
at the NCO Club, Camp San Louis Obispo, CA, May 1 & 2 2009. This
year’s event will formally begin at 0800 Friday morning, but early arrivals
are welcome Thursday afternoon (April 30) after 18:00.
Secured areas for equipment operation and display will be available inside
the Club and there is ample room on the surrounding grounds and RV park to
accommodate out of doors activities. Suggested operating frequencies are 3870,
3885 and 7293 kHz for AM, 3996 and 7296 kHz for USB and 29.6 and 51.0 mHz for
FM. The use of 146.52 is recommended for simplex operation.
TO DRIVE ON THE BASE, AUTO REGISTRATION, PROOF OF INSURANCE AND PERSONAL
IDENTIFICATION MUST BE SHOWN AT THE FRONT GATE!

Friday Program
Friday will be devoted to equipment setup and display, operating events, technical presentations, and informal gatherings in and
around the campground. Special activities may include fox hunts on 6 meters or 75 meters (51.0 MHz), and 3885 kHz. Contact Bart ( click
here to send an email) to sponsor or participate in a fox hunt on 6 meters or 75 meters. Equipment will be set up for judging.
Presentations:
The swap meet starts Saturday at 0730 and lasts until 11:00 in the parking area adjacent to the NCO Club. We would appreciate advance notice from those planning to offer material and equipment for sale so that we may ensure sufficient space and facilities are available to accommodate all sellers.

Equipment Operation and Display
Numerous examples of both vintage and modern equipment will be in operation and on display throughout the meet..
Food and Drink
Coffee and tea will be available during the event for a donation of TBDcents per cup. Bottled water and soft drinks will be available for TBD cents each. Continental breakfast items and juice will be
available on Friday and Saturday mornings for TBD cents each. Lunch on Friday, dinner on Friday, and a lunch on Saturday will be available with advance sign up. Contact Lynn Fielding

Accommodations
A wide selection of commercial lodging choices are available in the area,

Billeting on a space available basis is available at the camp for
$44 to $54/person/night. There is also an RV park adjacent to the Club. Hookups are
available for $19 (full) and $17 (electricity and water only) per night.
RV and billeting reservations will be accepted NO MORE THAN 30 DAYS IN
ADVANCE, call (805)594-6500.
Finances
There are no admission charges for this event. Club rent, printing, mailing, insurance and incidental costs have been covered by voluntary contributions in the past. A
"fair share" contribution of TBD is requested of each
participant.
